[Milan, September 26, 2024] – "The Best Luxury Hotel Awards are more than just a recognition. They are a tribute to the excellence, innovation, and passion that drive luxury hospitality. Honoring these hotels means acknowledging the daily commitment that makes every stay an unforgettable experience," stated Mauro Santinato, President of Teamwork Hospitality, the award organizer. The ceremony, held last night in the stunning setting of the Hotel Principe di Savoia in Milan, showcased the best in the sector. Hosted by renowned journalist and entrepreneur Cristina Parodi, the event celebrated the pinnacle of Italian luxury hospitality before an audience of over 350 international hoteliers.
Below are the winners of the ten categories and the reasons behind their recognition:
- Best New Opening: The award was presented to Borgo dei Conti Resort Relais & Châteaux in Boschetto Vecchio for the beauty of its architectural design, the choice of materials, and its profound references to Renaissance art. The resort has crafted a unique experience for lovers of beauty, enhancing the local identity. Antonello Buono, General Manager, accepted the award, which was handed over by Fabio Formenti, CEO of Simmons, the world-leading brand in bedding.
- Best Design: The award was given to Helvetia & Bristol Firenze - Starhotels Collezione, which reopened in 2021 after an extraordinary renovation. Thanks to the work of master Florentine artisans, the hotel has become an icon of Made in Italy hospitality. General Manager Federico Versari, along with Elisabetta Fabri, President and CEO of Starhotels Group, accepted the award, which was presented by Martino Pedersoli, founder of Pedersoli, a company specializing in luxury linens and laundry services.
- Best Restaurant: The restaurant I Tenerumi at Therasia Resort Sea & Spa on the island of Vulcano was awarded for bringing contemporary plant-based cuisine to the island, showcasing a commitment to authenticity, environmental respect, and innovation. Umberto Trani, Co-General Manager, accepted the award from Alain Prost, Chairman and CEO of Ginori 1735, a manufacturer of 100% made-in-Italy porcelain.
- Best Breakfast: Portrait Milano stood out for its breakfast that combines beauty and a passion for taste, featuring a rich and diverse buffet and the creativity of its executive pastry chef. Valeriano Antonioli, CEO of Lungarno Collection, accepted the award, which was presented by Nicola Fornasieri, International Key Account Director of Lavazza Group, a leading company in coffee production.
- Best Bar: The bar at Aman Venice received the award for its extraordinary combination of drinks that are true works of art, served in a unique location. Bar Manager Antonio Ferrara, together with Executive Assistant Manager Riccardo Cuomo, accepted the award, presented by Domenico Toni, Chief Business Officer of Distillerie Bonollo.
- Best General Manager: Vincenzo Falcone of Bvlgari Hotel Roma was honored for his visionary leadership and his ability to bring out the best in people and for people. Michelangelo Murano, Head of Sales Italy at Blastness, a technology partner for business development in the hospitality sector, presented the award.
- Best Service: San Pietro di Positano was awarded for the uniqueness of its offerings and staff management, which have made it an exceptional hotel recognized by guests as their "favorite hotel in the world." Vito Cinque, owner, accepted the award, presented by Dario Parizzi, Head of Operations at Adecco Italia.
- Best Wellness & SPA: Adler Spa Resort Dolomiti in Ortisei was recognized as an international benchmark in wellness, thanks to its unique spa programs and impeccable hospitality. Daniela Zappelli, PR Manager of the resort, accepted the award, which was presented by Alessandro Sciarrone, Sales Manager Hospitality at Technogym, the global leader in wellness and fitness equipment production.
- Best Sustainability Program: Hotel La Perla Corvara received the award for its commitment to social, environmental, and economic sustainability, with a special focus on the preservation of the Dolomites. Michil Costa, owner, accepted the award, presented by Thomas Tschimben, owner and managing director of PRIMA, a creative atelier for hotel amenities.
- Best Innovation Technology: Grand Hotel Victoria in Menaggio won for creating an experience where technology and hospitality blend seamlessly, enabling advanced room and service management. Marco Montagnani, General Manager, accepted the award, which was presented by Gloria Armiri, Manager of the Tourism & Hospitality Division at Italian Exhibition Group, a trade fair organization that hosts 48 events, including TTG Travel Experience.

- Special Award to Borgo Egnazia: The resort was recognized for its impeccable representation of Italy during the G7 summit. Aldo Melpignano, owner, accepted the award, which was presented by Andrea Dori of Dori Consulting.
- Special Award to Mario Mancini: This recognition highlighted his contribution to the development of the hospitality sector through editorial initiatives and innovative events. The award was presented by Mauro Santinato of Teamwork Hospitality.

Composed of a base in burnished brass and a travertine monolith, the award embodies luxury, Italian heritage, and hospitality. Ten different travertine stones, sourced from Tuscan quarries, make each award unique, emphasizing the excellence of each winner.
In addition to the award, recipients also received exclusive gifts, including Aurora pens, a Tucano backpack, and a jewelry bell from Chantecler.
