Rimani, a Turin-based company specialized in designing and producing innovative lighting solutions lightens Ottica Gallery, a renowned optic shop located at the heart of Turin center. The project initiated in 2024 was designed in collaboration with Benedetta Veglia from studio PAT. architetti associati from Torino for the inclusion of a lighting system capable of maximizing the display of products, creating a unique and functional atmosphere.
Concept and objectives
The design base concept was developed with the idea to include a ceiling product, integrated within an eco-sustainable setup, which is made of reusable and environmentally friendly materials. The main goal was to create a glare free set-up but could provide a bright projection with an adjustable effect. A diffuse light that would highlight the products on display without the light source being perceptible to the eye, ensuring an optimal aesthetic and functional experience.

Rimani’s product used
Rimani proposed a cutting-edge solution with the inclusion of a fully concealed recessed product that met specific technical requirements, such as the production of warm light and the use of interchangeable magnetic optics, to bring out the best of the exhibits. For this reason, the Solar60 recessed product was selected, a product that was adapted and customized to the specific needs of the setup.
In fact, Solar60 recessed incorporates the characteristics of the Solar collection, a single-source LED projector with natural light that covers the entire spectrum in the visible. A best-in-class element characterized by accurate color rendering with exceptional vividness of whites, it has high intensity and extraordinary uniformity and effectiveness of beams. Its 3000K color temperature meets the need for warm light, and the primary optic features a central “macula” that masks the source from direct view and limits glare.
Solar is particularly suitable for retail activities, thanks to its proper directional lighting that enhances a wide range of products through accurate and complete color rendering.

The benefits
The solution adopted by Rimani brought numerous advantages, responding in a timely and highly effective manner to all the technical and design requirements requested. In fact, Rimani's signature lighting highlighted the eyewear on display, creating a refined atmosphere without allowing the light source to be glimpsed. This feature made it possible to make the most of the exhibits, giving them perfect lighting that enhanced their details without compromising the overall aesthetics of the space. In addition, the decision to use low-energy-impact products provided a concrete response to the client's need to reduce consumption without sacrificing either the efficiency or the visual appearance of the rooms. In fact, the intervention involved the replacement of the pre-existing lighting, which consisted of halogen and discharge systems, in favor of the adoption of Solar60 LED spotlights, a choice that made it possible to reduce energy consumption by 70%.
The selected solution achieved a perfect combination of design, energy efficiency and lighting performance, helping to enhance every detail of Ottica Gallery with delicate and precise light. In this way, Rimani was able to respond in a timely and innovative way to the needs of architect Veglia, offering a result that not only respects the aesthetic aspects of the project, but also the objectives of sustainability and lighting performance, once again confirming its role as a reference in the field of advanced lighting solutions.
